How can I send a resumé?
You may send your resumé and cover letter to us via postal mail, and we will contact you if we are interested. Please keep in mind, however, that job openings are very rare, and we usually don't need editorial freelance services.

Who was Albert Whitman?
Albert Whitman, the founder of the company, spent his entire life in the publishing business. In the early 1900s, he started with the Hammon Map & Atlas Company and then went with Rand McNally Company as a salesman, later becoming sales manager of their Book Division. He left Rand McNally to start a publishing venture known as the Whitman-Hamming Company. This company was subsequently merged into the Western Printing & Lithographing Company, but retained its identity as the Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin. After the merger, Mr. Whitman left Western and three years later, in 1919, founded Albert Whitman & Company in Chicago, Illinois. In 1949, Mr. Whitman, because of advancing age, decided to relinquish active management and sell the business to a group of his loyal employees. More than 80 years after its founding, Albert Whitman & Company continues to be independently owned and operated.
